Age Requirements
Our program is offered to youth ages 5-12 years old (or who have not entered the 7th grade yet. Age is based on how old the participant is as of August 1st.
**Only participants ages 5-6 years old as of August 1st are able to participate in flag division. Any participant age 7-12 years old must play in tackle division**

Registration
Registration: All participants MUST register online at the registration site provided. We offer a discount for siblings (football and track only) as well as an early registration discount. We offer a payment plan for participants who register prior to June!
Documents Required: Certified copy of Birth Certificate of participant, FINAL report card, and current physical.
Football: Registration includes uniform (jersey and pants). For tackle teams, registration also includes the use of a helmet and shoulder pads from NYFA. Players keep their uniform at the end of the season.
Cheer: Registration includes the full uniform including top, bottoms, bloomers, bow, bag, and socks. Cheerleaders keep their uniform at the end of the season.
Track: Registration includes shirt which participants will keep at the end of the season.

Practices
Practice starts mid-July to the end of July and will be held in the evenings during the weekdays. Practices may be held up to 4 times a week before the start of school and up to 3 times a week once school starts. Coaches will set the practice schedule for their teams.

Games
There are 8 regular season games which are played on Saturdays (game time varies each week, schedules will be posted closer to the start of the first game). The first game of the season will either be the weekend before Labor Day or weekend after. There are 2 rounds of playoff games followed by the Superbowl so teams advancing to playoffs will continue to play after the end of the regular season. Cheerleaders will also continue to follow teams to playoffs up to the Superbowl.
Home games are played at Bulldog Stadium however some home games may be scheduled to be played at Prather. Away games vary depending on opponent.

How are teams selected?
All players, including flag players, MUST try out unless they are returning to the team they were on the prior year. Players are placed in a draft after tryouts then drafted to teams in accordance with rules/requirements set forth by STJFL.

What do Players need for the season?
Tackle football players will be issued a helmet and shoulder pads for use during the season. Players will be responsible for cleats, mouthpiece with strap, chin strap for helmet, padded pants (for practice and to wear under game day pants), practice jersey, and water jug.
Flag players will be responsible for cleats and mouthpieces.

Our organization depends on volunteers to help make each season successful! We need volunteers to fill the rolls of Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Team moms.
